The Alpha Centauri Colonist Program is an Earth-based initiative to establish a human presence in the Alpha Centauri star system.
Following the impact of the "Christmas Star", this project was created to ensure that humans would survive, even if Earth was rendered uninhabitable
History[]
Development of the technology to travel to Alpha Centauri had been in the works for many years prior to the Christmas Star Impact, although the program was not put into action until after the impact. A notable first explorer was Grant Kelly, the biological father of Judy Robinson, who disappeared at least 18 years before the events of Lost In Space.
The ACCP was created following the Christmas Star impact, when the discovery was made that the impact was from an Alien Spacecraft, not an asteroid as had been initially suspected. This Spacecraft had a highly advanced engine and robot pilot, which would unlock the ability to travel at faster than the speed of light, making interstellar travel possible.
The Resolute was built around the Alien Spacecraft, as the main vehicle to carry Colonists to Alpha Centauri. The other major space vehicle was the Jupiter Spacecraft, which was designed to shuttle people to and from the Resolute, as well as to serve as a makeshift home until the presence on Alpha Centauri was sufficiently established.
The Resolute made 23 routine trips to and from Alpha Centauri. During the 24th Colonist Mission, another Robot attacked the Resolute to retrieve the Alien Engine and the Robot that has been enslaved by the ACCP (Scarecrow). This led to the Resolute and passengers becoming stranded on and near the Unknown planet. The Resolute is ultimately destroyed in the conflict, but a replacement ship, the Solidarity, is later built in orbit around Alpha Centauri with the help of the Robots after peace between the two sides is achieved.
Technology[]
Several pieces of advanced technology were exclusive to the ACCP, to ensure the Colonist Presence on Alpha Centauri survived and thrived in the New World.

Some of the include:
- The Resolute: The Resolute was the largest spacecraft ever constructed by humans up until that point. It was also specifically designed to withstand going faster than the speed of light, something thought impossible by most scientists at the time.
- Artificial Gravity: Possibly through the use of the Alien Engine, the Resolute possessed artificial gravity, which allowed the passengers to make the journey without experiencing muscle atrophy or bone waste, common side effects of extended time in zero-gravity.
- Jupiter Spacecraft: These spacecraft were highly versatile, and contained many marvels of technology, including a highly intelligent Autopiloting System, and an advanced 3D printer capable of making complex moving parts and machinery.
- Faster-than-Light Travel: Although this technology was stolen, the ACCP is the only human organization known to possess this level of technology, which by most conventional models of the universe is considered impossible.

The ACCP had many Staff Members involved in designing spacecraft, planning missions, decoding and enslaving the Scarecrow, and building the Resolute, Jupiters, Chariots, and the Buildings for Alpha Centauri. Some of these include:

There are most certainly many other Colonists, although as of Season 2, they have not been named or mentioned
Trivia[]
- Alpha Centauri is the closest star system to our own solar system, and is only 4 lightyears away. So, it is entirely possible to make it there in a few years traveling at faster than the speed of light.
- The Alpha Centauri star system actually has three stars, Alpha Centauri A and B (in an eclipsing binary) and Proxima Centauri, which astronomers believe has an two exoplanets with Earth-like conditions: Proxima B and C. Astronomers also believe that a planet orbiting Alpha Centauri B has Earth-like conditions: Alpha Centauri Bc.
