Alien Kelp[]
The alien kelp is seen on the first episode of the water planet. It produces a toxin potent enough to send to victim into a coma.
Effects and Cures[]
Once latched onto its victim or its victim touches it for even a few seconds it will inject a toxin that numbs and paralyzes its victim's body from the affected area and spread through the cardiovascular system, until it reaches the brain. The victim will then be sent into a coma or killed from anaphylactic shock. The only way to save the victim it is to give them a blood transfusion.
Story[]
While clearing the engines of kelp, Don West is attacked by the kelp and quickly goes numb. Judy Robinson carries him away into a medical bay where she tells him that he needs a blood transfusion, and the only viable candidate is June Harris. Harris agrees to the transfusion, but later takes the kelp out of the bin and put it into a copy of Penny Robinson's book, Lost in Space. Harris presents the book to Captain Radic to read in the interrogation room, and the kelp sends him into a coma, getting rid of any evidence against Harris.
