Zar
THAR, or Leader Bot (named in the concept art), is the final antagonist of Season 2, notably its final episode, "Ninety-Seven." He is technically, indirectly, responsible for the events of Season 2 as a whole as well, being the superior of multiple robots, as the battle between the Robot and SAR both placed the alien engine where it could transport the Jupiter 2 away from the Resolute, and damaged the Resolute itself and forced its inhabitants to evacuate to the Amber planet in the first place. It is the leader of the robot force that attacked the Resolute in search of the engine later on. THAR died when John and Maureen collapsed the Resolute on top of the robots and their ship. It’s unknown if he was resurrected afterwards or not.
Personality[]
Being of the same basic construct as the Robot, Scarecrow, (Who shared the spine spikes, but were smaller.) SAR, and other robots, its abilities were extremely similar, though it was more similar to the SAR and its fellows than the Robot and Scarecrow, as it lacked their empathy, shown when it refused Will's pleas to let them go by attempting to attack him, and displayed a similar amount of cunning as the SAR, moving very, very slowly within the EMF field so the humans did not notice. Thar is shown to be uncaring for the colonists, wanting the engine back. Additionally, THAR's external plating incorporates exaggerated spines and a more silver-y coloration than his lesser counterparts, confirming he was created to be an authoritative body among the robots, and to be an effective fighter and strategist. It also appears that he lives in the same Ring as Scarecrow.
Powers & Abilities[]
Despite being of the same construct as the other robots, it was frighteningly powerful among them, as shown when it frequently overpowered Scarecrow physically, such as sending him flying with a sneak-attack strike, thrusting him through the window with enough force to shatter it completely, and tossing him around like a ragdoll in general. His energy weapons also seem to be stronger than most robots, as he destroyed a Jupiter's thruster with a single blast.
