Vijay Dhar

Vijay Dhar, a teenager, is one of the 1st group of crash survivors the Jupiter 2 crew encounter on the planet. Vijay is a quiet teenager with an incredible music talent, (as shared in Three Little Birds.)

On Netflix's Lost in Space, Vijay is portrayed by Ajay Parikh-Friese.

Biography[]

Vijay was the son of 24th Mission Colonial Representative Victor Dhar and his wife Prisha. He was one of the first people the Robinsons met after their Jupiter, the Jupiter 2 crashed on an unknown planet. After their initial meeting, he and Penny Robinson developed a close friendship. However, the two broke up after he revealed to his parents the secret Penny told him - that the planet was dying. Penny then told him in anger that he was a "bad kisser."

Despite this, Penny paired with him on-board the Resolute to try to obtain proof that it was the actions of "Dr. Smith" which placed the vessel's captain, Radic, in a coma. Vijay had stolen a code from his father that allowed him to access any area on the Resolute. She admitted to him, indirectly, that he was, in fact, her first kiss, and so she may not be the best judge. He later admitted, despite his previous claims to the contrary, that she was his first kiss as well, which she quipped was "super-obvious in retrospect." ("Run")

Following the escape from the unknown planet, Vijay, "Dr. Smith," Penny, and educator Mr. Jackson were rescued by Don West in a storage crate in open space. Further on, Vijay assisted the Robinson children in an attempt to save the robot known as Scarecrow.

On the shattered planet, Penny continues her romance with Vijay, but also develops feelings for a boy named Liam Tufeld. She begins to wonder which of the two of them is better for her, feeling that Vijay has the biggest heart and cares about everyone, whereas Liam has something really strong about him and is someone that could catch her if she fell off a cliff.

After reuniting with them on Alpha Centauri, Vijay joined Judy, Don, and Penny on their trip to the dam. At the end of the series, he and Penny seemed to get back together.
